As the Assistant Banquet Manager, you will be the driving force behind the seamless execution of events across our stunning property, from the elegant Orchard Event Center to the rustic charm of the Hilltop Pavilion and beyond. Working clorsely with the Banquet Operations Manager, you will embody our commitment to excellence in service. Ideal candidate muist live within 30 mile radius from Davidson
ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will be as diverse as they are rewarding, including:
  • Overseeing evening operations at Southall’s Event Center and outdoor event spaces, ensuring every detail is executed flawlessly
  • Spearheading innovative food and beverage programming, from captivating demonstrations in the Jammery to mixology showcases featuring products sourced directly from our agricultural components
  • Managing property-wide event activations for social, group, and corporate clientele, ensuring each experience exceeds expectations
  • Leading a dedicated team of Banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and housemen, fostering a culture of excellence through training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Maintaining meticulous control over inventory, product ordering, and budget management to optimize profitability and quality
Skills and ExperienceTo thrive in this role, you'll need:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the banquet operations industry, with at least 2 years in a high-end hotel or resort environment
  • Preferably, experience with Relais & Chateaux and Forbes standards, though not required
  • Proficiency in Delphi software is advantageous
  • A proven track record of excellence and success, with a focus on effective budget management and profitability
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with our executive team confidently
  • Outstanding training abilities, with a passion for developing talent and delivering unparalleled guest experiences
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring every aspect of our operation maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism
  • A polished and professional appearance, reflecting the prestige of our brand
  • The ability to recruit, schedule, and coach staff effectively, while staying ahead of industry trends and setting new standards of excellence

Education and RequirementsWhile a 4-year college degree is preferred, we welcome candidates with a combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Additionally, you must:
  • Be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
  • Have the physical stamina to stand and walk for prolonged periods, as well as work in all weather conditions
